Energy
With Connecticut’s energy costs among the highest in the nation, it is imperative to increase energy efficiency and competition to lessen the burden on families and businesses. We need a real, long-term plan for meeting Connecticut’s energy needs, including incentives for clean cars, energy conservation, a competitive electric market, more clean energy alternatives, and tax incentives for green jobs.
In 2010, legislative Democrats passed a measures that included a green manufacturing pilot program to encourage energy plants to implement efficiency measures, the Green CT Loan Program for residential and small business energy conservation projects, and a sales tax exemption for machinery and supplies used by the renewable and clean energy technology industries.
